This class is the most important class for the new or experienced fly fisher. Learning how to become a proficient caster will increase fishing success.
In this 2 hr. class you will learn how to cast a fly rod with the focus on efficiency and rod performance. The instructor will teach the importance of developing the basic casting stroke. During this class you will learn:
- Roll Cast
- Pick Up and Lay Down
- False Casting
- Distance and Accuracy
This class is one of the most important lessons for the beginner or the caster that wants to improve their basic casting technique. Start out fly fishing with the right casting skills and watch yourself become an effective angler. Group size is limted, to ensure plenty of individual instruction. Class is taught on the water.
Class Schedule
Class Duration: Classes are held Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (2 hours)
on the scheduled dates listed below.
Meeting Place: American River,Gristmill Access, south side of river near Folsom and Butterfield. There is a $5.00 parking access fee.
Equipment needed: Fly Rod and Reel Outfit, and Leader (7 1/2’ 4X).
A fly rod outfit can be provide for the lesson. Please notify instructor when signing up.

Payment/Cancellation Policy: Class must be paid for in full 14 days before the class date. Arrangements can be made for signups within the 14 day period. Cancellations made 14 days or more prior to the class date will receive a full refund if paying check or cash. A 5% credit card processing fee will be charged on all credit card refunds. Cancellations made within 14 days of the class date will forfeit their full payment unless that space is filled.
