Beginning Fly Fishing

Beginning fly fishing is essential for those wanting to get an educated start in the sport of fly fishing. We will cover everything one might encounter when buying a first rod and reel outfit to tying knots and fly fishing presentations. After two hours of relaxed in-class information, we will venture to the river and cover reading water, basic entomology, presentations and answer any questions about fly fishing. This class is full of important information for the beginner! Student should have basic fly casting knowledge before taking this class.

Class Schedule

Class Duration: Classes are held from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (4 hours) on the scheduled dates listed below.
Meeting Place: Kiene's Fly Shop
Equipment needed: Notepad and pen or pencil. Basic rod and reel outfit, leader, waders, hat, polarized glasses and valid CA Fishing License.
Class Fees: $50.00 per person

Private lessons are also available, call for rates and appointment.

Payment/Cancellation Policy: Class must be paid for in full 14 days before the class date. Arrangements can be made for signups within the 14 day period. Cancellations made 14 days or more prior to the class date will receive a full refund if paying check or cash. A 5% credit card processing fee will be charged on all credit card refunds. Cancellations made within 14 days of the class date will forfeit their full payment unless that space is filled.
