The opening chapter begins with a short overview of equipment and addresses the fundamental setup of the Spey Anchor Point and D-loop. Four instructional chapters comprising the roll cast, switch cast, snap-t cast, and snake roll cast are presented from several key viewing angles. The above caster angle and slow motion footage present a unique display prospective designed to reinforce the casting mechanics.

Each casting chapter ends streamside with casting catch and release fishing instruction introduced to compliment the cast.

There are dedicated chapters called Putnam's Notes that address the common problems of each cast, and one bonus 10 minute commercial free chapter of catch & release onstream instruction fishing for wild rainbow trout.

The DVD-video instruction is menu driven with the option to play the complete instruction set as a complete video, a casting lesson chapter, or Putnam's Notes individually.
