This Spey Casting Lesson will help you learn the basics or tune up your existing skills. Topics covered will include equipment, anchor point and D loop, sustained and touch and go anchors, developing the bottom hand, managing running line, snap t, double spey, perry poke on both river right and river left and shooting line. After attending this school attendees will have basic knowledge of spey casting and swinging flies for summer steelhead. Class size is limited to 6 people.
Rogue River Spey Camp
Join us for a single or multi-day spey casting camp on the famous Rogue River near Medford, Oregon. During this spey camp attendees will float a section of the Rogue River while learning spey casting and steelhead fishing techniques. Topics covered will include equipment, anchor point and D loop formation, sustained and touch and go anchors, developing the bottom hand, managing running line, snap t, double spey, perry poke, shooting line and how to swing flies to catch steelhead. Lunch is provided. Recommended lodging is the north area of Medford, OR. Class size is limited to 4 people. Required equipment: Valid OR. fishing license along with boots and waders.
